Description

Small jar with low straight neck repaired with metal band and carved inset base.
Clay: buff, fine-grained.
Glaze: thin, shiny, translucent; clear, grayish glaze on interior; base unglazed.
Decoration: in dark blue cobalt under the glaze. Body surface divided by thick lines framed by two thin lines into pentagonal compartments; the upper register of six such compartments filled in alternation with diaper and cloud-swirl motifs; the lower register of six with single full-faced flowers, floral sprays, and cloud-sprays in alternation.
