Curatorial Remarks

1. (Louise Cort, 12 October 2005) Comments from Morimoto Asako, archaeologist specializing in Chinese and Vietnamese ceramics recovered from sites in Hakata (Fukuoka), Short-term Visitor to study Hauge collection:

From a kiln in North Vietnam.

2. (Louise Cort, 23 December 2008) In his album of photographs of the collection, Victor Hauge grouped this dish and S2005.111 with the Cham dishes (S2005.119–133), suggesting that they might have been acquired at the same time and from the same source. Alternatively, Victor was comparing the similar glazing formats (with ring cut out of the glaze in the bottom) on the Cham bowls and these northern dishes.
