Curatorial Remarks

1. (Louise Cort, 3 April 2007) A similarly lid with elaborate knob was acquired by Dr. Sarah Bekker in Ayutthaya in the late 1960s, together with a large earthenware cooking pot and a stove. That source suggests the likely origin of this lid, although there is no proof that the lid was made for use on a cooking pot.

In Origin changed Thailand to Central Thailand; added Chao Phraya River network.
