Description

Clay: off-white stoneware with dark impurities. String-cut base, with scares of ridged shells used as firing supports.
Glaze: clear glaze over body to foot; copper-green glaze over neck and to below widest point of body.
Decoration: none.

Curatorial Remarks

1. (Louise Cort, 24 November 2003) According to Victor Hauge, this bottle was acquired in Bangkok. This was probably shipped as a commercial wine bottle.
